About

You Reach the Person Who Does the Work.

Castle Comfort is a one-owner business, built so that every client gets David’s own attention, the whole truth, and a system made to last.

Because Castle Comfort is a one-owner business, this page tells you who David is, how he came to this work and how he makes decisions. You will find his story, what the name means, what he means by quality and the habits you can expect on every job.

Meet the Owner

One Name on the Work.

David Carlsten has spent 15+ years in commercial and residential HVAC, and he runs Castle Comfort the way he thinks a home should run: as a system. He does the diagnostic, he does the design, and he leads the install, so there is no handoff where the details get lost.

He will tell you what he would do, what it costs, and what the trade-offs are, so the decision is yours, made with the facts.

“A house should feel like a castle: solid, quiet, and comfortable no matter what the weather is doing outside. That takes measuring, not guessing.”

His Story

Why David Started Castle Comfort.

David learned the trade in a family-run HVAC business that cared for homes, and then spent years on larger commercial projects. Together they taught him what the work can be when it is done properly, and how much it matters to the people living and working in the building.

He started Castle Comfort so the honest answer could always be the answer he gives. That means explaining every option, saying so when a repair is all that is needed, and recommending what is right for your home rather than what is easiest, or what a company or a brand requires.

It is the kind of work he would want done in his own house, which he looks after himself.

The Name

Why “Castle Comfort”?

A castle is solid, quiet and built to last. David knows no system lasts forever. But he has seen how much longer one can last when it is designed for the home, installed with care and looked after every year.

Your home is likely the biggest investment your family will make. The system that keeps it comfortable deserves to be chosen carefully, sized correctly and built so it feels fortified: safe, steady and ready for the weather.

The Standard

Five Kinds of Quality.

Quality is more than a good install. It shows up in five places, and David holds himself to all of them.

  1. Comfort You Can Feel.

Every room warm in winter and cool in summer, quiet and even, with the humidity right. The test is not a number on a thermostat. It is how the home feels at three on a July afternoon and at seven on a January morning.

  2. Equipment That Lasts.

Equipment that is sized, installed and cared for properly lasts. With the yearly care David offers, a system can serve a home for longer before it needs replacing. He will not give you a number, because it depends on the equipment and the home. He will tell you honestly what keeps yours healthy.

  3. How You Are Treated.

From the first call to the last visit: on time, clear, careful with your home, and mindful of the people living in it. Work that disrupts a household is planned around that household.

  4. The Choices Behind the Work.

Every decision, from the equipment to the size to what to repair and what to leave alone, is made with the facts on the table and the trade-offs explained. It is a choice you made, not one made for you.

  5. How You Feel at the End.

A good job leaves you confident. You understand what was done and why, you know what to do next, and you would be glad to call again.

How He Works

How David Works.

  • He Explains the Trade-Offs, and You Choose.

Every choice costs something: time, money, or the result. He shows you what each one trades, so you decide how to weigh them. No gotchas, no surprises, and no looking back a year later wondering what you were not told.

  • He Pays Attention to the Details.

The details nobody sees behind the drywall decide whether a system works and how long it lasts.

  • He Matches the Equipment to the Home.

An overpowered air conditioner or furnace strains itself and the rest of your system. He sizes by measurement so it runs gently and lasts.

  • He Is Not Tied to One Brand.

He recommends what suits your home and your budget, whatever the brand. If a repair is the better answer, that is the answer.

  • He Thinks of the Household.

How the work disrupts the people living there matters as much as the work itself, so he plans around the family and protects the home.

  • He Finds Answers That Fit.

Years of general construction and handyman work taught him to solve problems, not just follow a procedure.

  • He Meets People Where They Are.

When something breaks he understands what it is to be uncomfortable in your own home. When a repair means a wait, he has lent his own portable air conditioner to help.

The Long View

Small Jobs, Long Relationships.

A lot of David’s work begins small: a tune-up, a repair, a question. It often grows into a relationship that lasts, because people come back to the person who was honest with them, kept the home tidy and did the job well.

That is the reputation he wants. Not the biggest company, but the one you trust to tell you the truth, and to answer when it matters.

Experience

Where David Learned the Work.

A Family-Run HVAC Business.
Years of caring for homes: repairs, maintenance, replacements and the relationships that come with them.
Corporate Commercial HVAC.
Larger commercial systems and installations, where schedules, codes and documentation matter.
General Construction and Handyman Work.
Hands-on problem solving across a building, which shapes how he plans an install.

At Home

Beyond the Work.

David is a husband and the father of three. At home there is Feo, the dog, and Maya, the cat. Having a family is a big part of why he does the work the way he does: he wants every client to be treated the way he would want his own family to be.

The Homes We Like to Work On

For Homes Where the Details Matter.

Castle Comfort designs for homes that need more than a swap: larger and custom homes, additions and renovations, and rooms that have always been hard to keep comfortable.

When there is an architect, a builder or an interior designer on the project, David works with them so the system fits the design.
