Maintenance & Repair

Honest Diagnosis First. Repair Second.

Service on existing heating and cooling equipment, any brand. We find out what is really wrong, explain your options and let you decide.

This page is about the equipment you already have, whatever the brand. It explains what a service visit covers, how the decision to repair or replace is made, and how the Castle Care Plan can help problems be caught early.

What It Covers

What a Service Visit Covers.

  • Diagnosis You Can Follow.

We show you what we found and explain it in plain words.

  • Repairs, Any Brand.

We repair equipment we did not install, and we will say so when a repair is not worth it.

  • Seasonal Maintenance.

Heating before winter and cooling before summer, checked and measured separately.

  • A Checklist, Not a Quick Look.

Filters, airflow, electrical connections, safety controls and more, with the results written down.

  • The Castle Care Plan.

A fixed yearly plan so the seasonal visits happen on a schedule, before you need them. See the plan below.

  • Emergency Repairs.

If it stops at the worst time, call any hour.

Repair or Replace?

How We Think About the Decision.

It is your decision. This is how we help you make it.

  • Repair.

    What You Gain

    • Lowest cost today when the equipment is otherwise sound
    • No disruption to the rest of the system

    What It Costs

    • Older equipment may need more repairs over time
    • A repair does not fix a system that was the wrong size to begin with

Best When: the equipment is in decent shape and the problem is a single part.

  • Replace, Sized Properly.

    What You Gain

    • A system measured for the home and installed with its numbers recorded
    • A fresh start, with a plan for yearly care

    What It Costs

    • A bigger decision and a bigger cost today
    • It is only an improvement if the new system is sized and installed well

Best When: the equipment is old, keeps breaking, or never kept the home comfortable.

Questions

Questions People Ask.

What Happens During a Maintenance Visit?

We check the equipment against a written checklist, measure how it is performing, clean what needs cleaning, and tell you what we found. Heating and cooling are checked separately.

How Often Should I Have It Done?

At least once a year, and many people do heating in the fall and cooling in the spring. The visit costs far less than an emergency.

Do You Repair Equipment Another Company Installed?

Yes, any brand. If something is installed wrongly or sized wrongly, we tell you honestly and explain the options.

Do You Offer a Maintenance Plan?

Ask us, and we will explain what is included.

What We’d Tell a Friend

We diagnose before we recommend. If a repair makes sense, we repair it. If a part is likely to fail again soon, we say so, and let you decide.

Many people start thinking about replacement when equipment is over ten years old and needs frequent repairs. We will tell you honestly where yours stands.
