Heating.
Furnaces, boilers and heat pumps: repair, replacement and right-sized installs.
System Design
We measure the home, do the calculations, choose the equipment and design the ducts, then show you the plan and adjust it with you. Then we order the equipment and install it.
A designed system starts with measurements, not a guess. This page explains what the design includes (the room-by-room calculation, the equipment choice, the ducts and a written plan you keep), how a design job goes and the questions worth asking before anything is bought.
What It Covers
A Room-By-Room Load Calculation.
ACCA Manual J: how much heating and cooling every room and the whole home need.
Equipment Matched to the Load.
Manual S: choosing capacity and staging to fit the numbers, not the biggest box on the truck.
Duct Design for Real Airflow.
Manual D: sizing and routing the ducts so each room actually gets the air it was promised.
A Written Plan You Keep.
You see the plan before anything is bought, and we change it with you until it is right.
Equipment Coordinated, Ordered and Delivered.
We handle the buying and the shipping, so the right parts arrive together.
Installed and Verified.
Installed under David’s direction, sometimes alongside other trades, then measured and documented.
Questions
They are the industry’s standard methods. Manual J works out how much heating and cooling each room needs. Manual S chooses equipment that fits those numbers. Manual D designs the ducts so the air reaches every room.
No. A calculation with wrong inputs can still give the wrong answer, which is why we measure the home instead of estimating. We check the result against what we see.
Yes, on a new home, an addition or a renovation, we can work with your architect, builder or interior designer so the system fits the design.
Permit rules differ from town to town. We tell you what your town requires before work starts.
What We’d Tell a Friend
A calculation is only as good as the measurements behind it. That is why we measure the home ourselves, rather than guess from the square footage.
We will tell you if a smaller system is the right answer, even when a bigger one would be an easier sale.
A consultation starts with a conversation about how your home is behaving, not a sales pitch.
